Why should I hire a freelancer?

I get that question a lot.  Why should I hire a freelancer?  Surely I can do it on my own.

Yes, you could try to do it on your own.

But is that the best use of your time?

You could write the copy for your website.  But do you like to write?  Are you good with words?  Do you know how to tell the story in such a way as to keep your audience’s attention?

Yes, you can build a drag and drop website.  But does it have the background analytics that will tell you how your site is doing?  Do you know what the analytics mean?  Do you know what a plugin is and how it works?  Or even if you need a plugin for that?

Yes, you can market yourself.

  • Do you know how?
  • Do you have an understanding of who your audience is?
  • Do you know how your buyer reacts to different kinds of content?
  • Do you know all the different kinds of content that are out there and how to best use them?

So while you could do these things.  You can learn about them.  But is this the best use of your time and energy?

Do you have the time and patience for that?

This is where you need to take a hard look at your skills and time.  What is that time worth to you?

Hiring a freelance professional will cost you some money.  The better they are the more they cost.  But you must remember ‘You get what you pay for”.   But it could free up your time.  Time, you could use to increase your product flow.  Time, you could use to talk to more clients, buyers.

A good freelance professional can give you the skills you need to take your business to the next level.  And without all the stress of trying to do it all on your own.   Hiring a freelancer can be good for your health too.  They can release some of the stress by providing valid and up-to-date information.

So how do you find a good freelance professional?

I would go to Freelancer.com Upworks.com and other similar platforms.  You are able to search for your need, read reviews and see how they rate on the platform.  These platforms also give you some security.  Their reputation is important to them.  They weed out the quacks and the cons.  They have built-in safeguards for you and the freelancer.  And it gives you one place in which to find all kinds of freelancers.

So sit back for a minute.  Think about those small tasks that could be given to someone else what is the time you spend doing them worth to you?  Now think about those big tasks.  Do you really have the right skills to do them right the first time?  Is it better to pay someone with expertise to do it for you?  How much time and money could be lost if you don’t have that site built right?

How much are you willing to invest in your business and yourself to set yourself off on the right foot?

Now that you have had time to think.  Which jobs could you hand off to another to complete?
